I love interacting with pupils. I find them really cute and nice to talk to sometimes (esp those who positive and enthusiastic). I told my netball girls to write journals to tell me how they feel about each session or what they had learnt. I enjoy the process of reading through what they write and commenting on them. Every week, I look forward to read those who really wrote from the bottom of their heart. As for those who refused to hand it in to, I'm giving up on them.
Since journal writing is my way of reaching out to them as a "friend" and they don't want me to be their friend, I shall not hard up to be their friend.
In my class, I have a few naughty boys. One of them forgot to bring his files last week. I called his mum and he cried while he spoke to his mum. My heart melted. I didn't expect him to cry at all. Then I told him to write in his handbook that he had to bring his files the next day. I also told him to bring some red packets to decorate the classroom. The funny part of this story is, he said he did not need reminders to bring the red packets as he could remember to bring them. See the priority and cute side of kids? And he did a wonderful job with a few other classmates to do up the door. Even their classmates commented that it was very nice... according to kids standard. Not too bad! I shall take some pictures and upload it here soon.
I am thankful to God for those lovely pupils who always touch my heart with what they wrote and their actions. Although some of my pupils are really mischievous, I always melt when they still bid goodbye to me even after a scolding from me. Those were the motivations that got me to work hard every single day.
